Few countries in the world have astounding range of cities as India. India is a country with long history and vast number of multi-ethnic people. This pronounces that India has all types of cities: Metropolitan, historical, religious, business, production, harbour cities and so on. This is a broad categorisation and several cities can fall in more than one categories.

Delhi is a historical metropolitan city and the capital of India. Mumbai falls in three categories: metropolitan, harbor and business. Varanasi is a religious town. Hyderabad, Pune, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur are historical towns. However, Pune has become a prominent business town these days. Agra is a major historical and production town. Goa is a very popular Indian coastal state.
