Embark on the tour of Kerala, blessed
with splendid natural beauty. The Indian state is known for plenty of
pleasant greenery and pristine coasts dotted with coconut palm. Innumerable
backwater lagoons slice through the state. Thousands of conventional boats
and sun-drenched beaches are ever ready in Kerala to serve the visitors.
Lush plantations carpet the entire state and endow it verdant glory. The
only interruptions to this stretch of green are the lovely backwaters. Both
of these is for you to enjoy.
Day 1
Arrival at Cochin Airport. Our representative would escort you to hotel. Go
for Kathakali show in evening. Kathakali is a classical dance presented in
group. Dancers produce performances traditionally based on themes from Hindu
mythology, especially the two world-famous epics, the Ramayana and the
Mahabharata. Stay at night in Cochin.
Day 2
The day is reserved for sightseeing in Fort Cochin and Mattancherry. The
sightseeing spots include Jewish Synagogue(1568 AD),the Dutch Palace (Built
by the Portuguese) and St.Francis Church (1503AD). Next stop in your
itinerary is Munnar, an important hill station in Kerala. Once it served as
the summer resort of the British government officials in South India. Stay
at night in Munnar.
Day 3
More delight on hill stations. Visit Mattupatty and Devikulam, both South
West of Munnar. Driving amidst tea plantation is a pleasant experience.
Stroll on the hill stations and soak in the invigorating air. Night in
Munnar.
Day 4
Have breakfast and commence journey to Thekkady. Driving in middle of rain
forests is a refreshing experience. The road slices through countryside and
rich tea plantations. Relish stroll in spices plantation in evening. Stay at
Thekkady at night.
Day 5
You would enjoy a boat cruise in Periyar Lake. There is a sanctuary on the
coast which gives one an opportujnity to witness animals while experiencing
boat cruise in the lake. What makes the lake special is that it is a
man-made waterbody. Then take a lunch and move on to Kumarkom. Stay at night
in Kumarakom.
Day 6
Spend the day for sightseeing in Kumarakom. The place is located on the
banks of Vembanad Lake. One can see plenty of conventional boats and canoes.
These take the rider into the heart of the scenic lake. Kumarakom is a boom
for Kerala. One can pass gala time in houseboats and indulge in activities
likie fishing. Return to Cochin in evening.
Day 7
Take your breakfast. Transport to Cochin Airport for onward journey.
